Hi, I started on a three year temporary position as a clerical officer in a local authority last June I was then made permanent in January of this year. I was wondering if I am due my first increment now in June as I will be there a year?

I think the Work & Jobs forum is better for this query.

    What does your contract say?

Thanks I have changed to the work and jobs forum @Boards.ie: Mark. I will have to take at look at contract again but I was under the impression I was entitled to it this June @Lux23

Go to your HR unit and ask about incremental credit for previous service. It's a common query in the public service which they will have a procedure/policy in place for to see if you are eligible.

Ok I will check with them, thanks. This is my first job in the public area so there would be no other history, so it should be straight forward?

    Hi

Your previous service will count and January should be your first increment.

So I would have to wait a year from when I was made permanent?
