Where to buy or rent used plywood?

In the next few weeks I'll be needing approximately 100m2 of plywood in order to protect existing timber flooring.

To buy new is going to cost a small fortune - does anyone know where these could be bought used or rented even?

    North county Dublin.

find a local formwork contractor and he will certainly have a stock of used ply that in the main goes in a skip.

Used forwork ply will have bits of concrete still stuck to it, it'll do more damage than good to an existing floor.

    - that must have been new

    8 feet by 4 feet

to the OP, what you want is hardboard - about €11 a sheet, you'll need 34 of em to cover your area

another option is to approach someplace that deals with a lot of large packages (oo-er missus!). and see if they'll let you take away their waste cardboard. lots of places would have so much cardboard, they'd have a dedicated press to compact it for recycling.

    Coriboard made for this
If you need to go the whole hog get some cheap floating floor foam on first then the Coriboard on top
8x4 sheets 1/4 inch thick about a fiver a sheet . water proof and doesnt curl up like ply in the corners after a while

Yep corri board is the job. Set it down, slight overlap on the joints and duct tape in position.

Etag fixings in Ashbourne stock it and I've seen it recently in Homebase also.

    2.4m X 1.2m and 18mm thick smartply.

Thanks everyone for the advice and input. I'm leaning towards a thin ply, but will also check out the hardbourd option. The Coriboard I feel will not protect adequately against a falling slate. I'm open to correction of course.

Could you make use of the ply as attic flooring later?
