Sinks and Toilets

    Hi

Background : Updating a 1960s semi D., in Cork. Re-doing the main bathroom, and actually taking some of it to make an ensuite. Also hope to add a downstairs loo. The hot water will be via a combi boiler.

I'm trying to decide what sinks/toilets I need to get, and I'd appreciate any recommendations which do the job on price and efficiency.

For the main bathroom, I will be getting a standard toilet and sink, though may just get a 3/4 length bath.

Ensuite : I will be getting the Triton T90sr, probably a 900mm shower tray, a small narrow sink and a standard water saving toilet.

D/stairs loo : a small narrow sink and a standard water saving toilet.

Thanks in advance. I'm off out to do some research now anyway, and hope to visit IKEA in a couple of weeks as well, but it would be great to hear anyone else's advice/tips too.

For the downstairs loo, if its a small rooms such as under the stairs you should consider getting a small corner sink, they can help save open floor space. As its usually only washing hands thats done in a small downstairs loo.

As for the 3/4 length bath i would not be a fan, any time i have installed them i find they are rarely actually used as they do not have the comfort of a full length bath. I think you are better off installing a spacious good quality shower, with good quality shower doors rather than going both.

Thanks for your reply. For both parts of your post, rejigging the stairs is going to increase the space in the downstairs loo and will comfortably allow for a small corner sink, a small rad and the toilet. It will also allow greater space in the main bathroom upstairs by reducing the size of the landing (which was huge). We will be able to shorten the length of the Main bathroom (to get an ensuite for the master bedroom, but increase the depth of it, to a square bathroom.
