Is there a particular reason you think you should jump the queue on the housing list?
Do you have serious medical issues that are being ignored by your local authority?
Are you a victim of domestic abuse in grave danger?

What do you want the TD to say in the letter then?
Does your key worker think you won't get on the list without the letter?
Before you go to your TD you need to have a reason for the TD to intercede for you.
Why does your key worker think you won't be allowed on the list?

Just to let you know that TD's letters dont really do much anymore for housing aplications.
Myself and my husbad got 3 diff TD's to write letters for us when I was struggling with extreme mental health issues but as I was on waiting lists for apointments I wasnt getting any help and we were facing homelesness with two very young children. But as I didnt have a letter from a consultant stating I had severe issues I was completely ignored, even letters from my gp stating i was awaiting assesstment didnt matter. As it stands Ive been seeing someone for 6 months now and am still no where near an official diagnosis (they dont want to diagnose as it would mean i need more appointments and the public system are only supposed to offer you 8 a year!) So still wouldnt have grounds to be bumped up the list even tho my home life is being severvely affected as my husband lost his job due to my illness.
And even the TDs themselves told us that they could write all the letters they wanted but it would likely not help us get housed as everyone and their mother is going to the local TD nowdays.
It also doesnt help that in alot of cases the houses just arent there too. Theres been people on the list 15 years and not gotten housed yet.

The only true way to get 'bumped up the list' is to get a life threatening illness, in which case I fully agree you should get some priority.
Even being made homeless with kids doesnt get you much priority these days, as I was informed when we got yet another rent increase letter, that we could join the homeless list and we would maybe get housed a bit faster. But it could still be years i was told even then which is a disgrace!
