    Hi
Have booked an appointment to look at a 152 Santa Fe 2,2 diesel 7 seater tomorrow afternoon
Just wondering would anybody have any views or experience of this car.We need a 7 seater and it comes with 3 years remaining on the warranty. There seems to be a good few of them around , Is this a good sign
    Many thanks

Servicing is relatively expensive on them in fairness but I wouldn't let it be a deal breaker.

They are reasonable reliable, but the warranty is so big that that doesn't even really matter.

Can I ask which trim level you're looking at?

Weirdly Hyundai Ireland did a balls up of the specifications on the Comfort trim in 2015.

A 2013 Comfort Santa Fe had rear camera and electric fold in mirrors while the 2015 didn't, even though it was the same model .

The 2.2 manual is thirsty and not all that refined but quite reliable and torguey.

They are a big bus and you'll notice this in particular when taking turns, the body roll is immense.
Then again, any car this size will be cumbersome.

Over all they are quite nice and reliable with great cabin space

The Premium Auto is the one to go for but it;s pricey!

A Nissan X trail might fit the bill too, they were much cheaper new but not quite as big.

    Hi
Thanks for your response. Sorry did not get the full details from the Garage on the exact spec I will know later on today when I see it and will let you know. I currently have a Sharon so am looking forwarding to checking it out and seeing how it compares, At the moment my head is saying stick with an updated Sharon but my heart thinks the Sante Fe would be nice

There's no comparison I'm afraid. The Sharan/Alhambra is so much more practical.

    Agreed, Yes they are!

Sorento is a better buy than the dated Santa Fe and a bit bigger. AFAIK and FYI, Facelifted Sorento arriving late this year and new Santa Fe arriving next year.
I'll be in a similar boat soon, and part of me is saying stick with a large MPV. They simply cant be beaten for practicality, although a new 5008 might suffice given its layout.
But back on point, I'd seriously take a Sorento for a test as well, Manual Platinum is a fine car with lots of extras plus cheaper tax. I believe both cars can only average 35mpg at best.

Regarding X-Trail, the 1.6 does a very good job, but this Car is very very small. I believe its one of those 7 Seaters that simply shouldn't be a 7 Seater.
