Can anyone recommend a course around south Dublin that would be available for a casual game on Saturday morning.

I take it most places (Including my own) will have competitions on. Looking to go with 1 or 2 friends who haven't played in a while.

So far I have found stepaside but it's seems to be a 9 hole. Anything else?

Try tee times, golf now or even gui site to find open events.

Stay away from stepaside, it's been a while since I was up that way, but it's really only grand if you are not a proper golfer

Lisheen Springs has an hour set aside for visitors between 11.30 - 12.30

If you want to venture over the north side Hollystown has plenty of available slots on Saturday morning

I ventured in there one day for a game towards the end of last year, more for the nostalgia than anything else. I used to play in there a lot years ago so was looking forward to it.

It's a pretty poor course with very rough small greens. I had my notalgic fix so won't be going back in there anytime soon.

Check out Grange Castle, they always have tee times available Saturday morning.

Thanks. So it's between Grange Castle and Stepaside. The lads I'm with haven't played in about 10 years so I think a field with a few flags would do us this time around.

If that's all you want then Leapardstown is your best bet.

Bit outside Dublin but Glen Mill is very good. All Par 3 holes but they've a good variety of lengths from a wedge to a 4 Iron and generally kept in good condition.

Gone there regularly with friends who don't play much golf

Edmonstownton usually a good spot to get out on a saturday.
Sometimes you will get out on the course members are not using in powerscourt too

Roundwood is usually quiet enough on a Saturday morning. A very hilly course where you would better off with one leg shorter than the other for a lot of it but can be good for beginners/improvers who are a bit slower as you usually have the freedom of the course.

    is that a joke?
perfect golf course for beginners who after playing it will never want to play golf again more like!
it's not a bad course, but there is a reason it is always empty!

Fyi, there's a 7 hole course at Grange Castle that used to be empty on a Sat Morning. Think it's a tenner for 7 and maybe 15 if you want to play it twice. The main course was always busy on a Sat morning when I was a member years ago.

It might do the trick if you're just looking for a social thing with no pressure from groups behind. It's obviously not great but it might tick your box.

Stepaside and Leapordstown may be a little busier on a Sat morning. I would be looking at the quietest course around so would go for GC 7 hole.

Bray have a reciprocal deal with Powerscourt where they make timesheet slots available to each other from time to time.
Quite a few Bray members will be there this coming Saturday

Just had a look at their site. It's still €10 for 7, €15 for 14 holes. As I said previously and as would be expected, they're not great and I haven't been there in years but it might tick your box. I used to play them if I wanted a quick fix. Can't seem to book them online so you'll have to give them a call.

Yeah you just nerd to turn up and play, can be busy at times but generally very quiet especially early Saturday morning. It's a decent course but the greens aren't great.
