Tattoo cost and time

Hey guys,

I've been planning on getting another tattoo for a while now and going to starting to research different artists, just wondering if there's anyone with a bit of experience that could give me an idea on how long it might take as I know it's generally in the region of €100 per hour. Not looking to cheapskate anyone just trying to prepare myself.

Basically what I'm trying to get is different flowers (poppy, orchid, magnolia, rose, peony) on my shoulder, starting from top of my shoulder (around the area where collar bone ends) extending down to about halfway between my shoulder and elbow. Colouring I would be looking at maybe hints of pink throughout but other than that just black and grey.

I don't know how to post pics on this but if someone could tell me I could attach some references I have.

Anyone who could give an input I would be very grateful

Depending on the density, shading etc, I can imagine it taking a good few hours - maybe two sittings, depending on if it wraps around the arm?

That's the "how long is a piece of string" question, as there are too many factors that you can't account for.

Positioning (well, you have that), size, detail, colouring. It'd depend on the artist to give you a (very) rough estimate.

Based on your (assumed) size and the design you described (as per my mental image), I can confirm that it will cost exactly e50 give or take a few hundred euro...

Thanks for replies so far. Sorry, I know I'm not giving enough detail and not sure how to without sending pics which I don't know how to do. I'm going to post some links for reference to style, sizing, etc. Hopefully that will help...

Your best bet here is to do your research on artists, find one that you want to do the work and get a quote off them. It will be a very rough ball park from what they say as there are so many factors as others have said.

Put it this way, I'd be allowing a few hundred before I went to ask about a quote. But I'm not an expert or an artist.
