    Hi,
Just looking into getting self build insurance and i'm wondering does anyone have any advise on what we should get covered for? Is it worth paying to cover all risks?
    Thanks

your mortgaging bank may include it if you ask.

I asked and they said they would cover the building under construction for 12 months but that does not include any workers on the site. Is this the same as what the provided to you?

Thanks Shaunoc - we are going to get public and employers liability as we are not hiring a main contractor.

As the owner of the site you should also have Public Liability Insurance to cover any risk of anyone injuring themselves on your property. Main Contractor's Insurance will only cover his contractal liability (his works and work areas) so there can be a gap between the two.

I very much doubt any bank included this for free as part of a mortgage. I would assume its included within the bank charges on the loan.

Can anyone recommend an insurance company for self build covering all work and risk of renovation work ?

Current insurance company increasing insurance because unoccupied and also will only cover Fire.

I think from ringing around I'm a little snookered as not a green field site ?
