Any parents with experience of what this is like?

Son just finishing first year and wants to go as "all" his friends are going. We're conflicted as feel he's too young but is the disco aimed at first years or is it more appropriate for an older group.

Have heard its well supervised but would appreciate any comments.

As far as I know a lot of second year students go, it is relatively safe they have good security but as long as he is with a close group of friends he should be fine.
