Needing advice on teaching courses

I'm looking to change my career and graduated with a degree a couple of years ago with a degree in Culinary Entrepreneurship. I'm either looking for a primary education course or Home economics Teaching in Secondary education but not sure how qualified I should be or if there are other routes?

Some difference between the two. Like saying you like running so should you be a sprinter a a long distance one!!

Have you any experience at all in any field that makes you think teaching is for you?

There is a lack of jobs in primary teaching at the moment , I have no idea about jobs in Home Economics, I think St Angelas would be the place to contact there.

If teaching is a passion then go follow your heart but if it is only for the long holidays unless it is to work the same hours that your kids are in school then do alot of research first.

I think the panels for permanacies are relatively small this year, which ultimately means more jobs are becoming available. From talking to various subs I've worked with, most pick up a contract after a year of subbing, a much better situation than when I graduated 7 years ago.

Op, why not ask in a local school if you could do some observation. You'd need to be Garda vetted first, but it might help to decide what path to go down.
