Disconnecting from electrical devices/the internet.

Have any of you lot tried this not using your technology all the time/being connected to the internet all the time?
I've been trying it myself the past 2 week or so. Turning computer off, airplane mode on phone, all that stuff for a few hours, and it feels pretty goddamn good. Granted I'm not working a high pressure job or having a family or anything so I desperately need to be connected 24/7, so maybe its not possible for everyone. But I think I'll do it more and more at this point.

It's called doing an Ed Sheeran.

Excuse me, I'd never ride a ginger :pac:
    :pac:

But yeah, in reality I switch of for a few weeks ever year and it's the most refreshing thing ever.

I'm the opposite. I have to make a point of logging in to my devices every now and again.

No. I'm paid the big bucks to be available 24/7. They stay on.

When on the family holiday I move my sim in to an old Nokia.
Its kind of nice to be disconnected for a couple of weeks a year. You dont really miss much.

If I could get out and do 'stuff' more right now, I wouldn't miss the internet at all. Just switching it all off would be pointless 'cause I can't get out into nature as much as I'd like, not for a month or so anyway.
I've lived off-grid and it's much nicer but it's not practical to do it full time.

I've a basic Nokia though so it's not like I'm chained to the internet everywhere I go.

    Yeah Op, fair play.

I've gradually closed most of my social media accounts.

I leave the phone and ipod behind when going for a jog or walk.

I feel better for it. Was getting to the stage that my phone was starting to feel like a limb.

I put airplane mode on when I'm going to sleep - it's the only way to stop me messing on my phone in bed!

I put my phone in airplane mode, and threw it up in the air.

    Worst. Transformer. Ever.

I'm not that frequent a user of them that I need a break from them. I have to use a PC prretty regularly 9-5, but outside that I could be offline for long periods anyway.

I have an app on my phone called Quality Time that records daily usage. Yesterday's total usage was 9 minutes, and the day before that was 11 minutes.
