What paint choice is there for corrugated rooves? Can it be bought it ordinary paint shop or do I need to go to an NCF kind of place?

I asked in my local Homeland shop and they directed me to a single product Dulux Galoxide and said it only comes in one colour - Dark Grey.

I also asked if they had special rollers for corrugated rooves and was shown a foam-type roller that didn't look as though it would stand up to much abuse.

What part of the country are you in? If you're near the midlands, Castle Paints in Tullamore would be worth calling to. They manufacture their own oxide paints and enamels for metalwork. I've bought floorpaint from them in the past and they give good technical advice and their pricing is keen, well worth talking to.

Depending on how big the roof is , it could be worth contacting Castle paints and getting the paint delivered, there paint is top quality and usually costs less than the shops

Funny then that I have a 25l tin of Green galoxide?

Normal colours are green red and grey just look at the galvanised barn roofs around the county. Try glambia if you are really stuck but they won't be the cheapest.

    Tech sheet http://www.albany.ie/images/stories/downloads/galoxidetds.pdf

Don't paint except when its really warm good weather. If you have paint that is still wet as it gets dark you get dew on it and that changes the finish (makes it dull looking).

I like to use a good dose of owtrol in it but thats not necessary and adds to the cost but it goes on much easier and I think it does a better job with owtrol if the roof has a bit of rust on it or if the galvanised isn't completely weathered.

Got dark grey Dulux Galoxide in NCF/Homeland. Nice surprise when I reached register to find it was reduced from €38.39 to €29.95. They didn't have Owtrol.

Often motor factors have Owtrol, you don't need it unless the galvanised is still shiny or is starting to go rusty and when you see the price you probably won't get it anyway ;)
