    16:05 York 1m2f56y Tattersalls Musidora Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo)

Shutter Speed, the 2/5 favourite in this five runner race, ran twice, won twice. In her last race she beat colts getting weight.

My bet is Vociferous Marina at 5/1.

I think she will get the distance. She is a May filly.
She started in an 8f maiden and was 8th.
    Since then: won, 8th, won.
In her first win (7f) she quickened on soft to win by 1 3/4l, the 3rd 10 3/4 behind, beating seven colts, getting 5 pounds from each.
This year she was 8th (7f) on soft/hvy, Madrid Handicap, btn 12 1/4l giving 20 pounds to the winner, and 25 pounds to the second.

In her last race (1m 2f) on good she won "raced in rear, pushed along in last 2f out, rapid headway on outer into 4th 1f out, stayed on strongly to lead final 50yds, going away at finish".
It was a fillies listed race, all carrying the same weight. The time of the race looks better than most of the races on that card.

I like her pedigree, but I also like the pedigree of Shutter Speed.
    I prefer 5/1 to 2/5.

I notice John Gosden and Frankie Dettori have won it the last two years.
They are trying for three in a row.

Turftrax have the going as good, good to soft in places.

I'm hoping the favourite might not stay, although she won at 1m2f last time.

Vociferous Marina showed a cracking turn of foot in a decent race and is worth a nibble at the price, but the favourite has so much going for her that VF would need to be rapidly improving to beat her.

    Just back in the house

    The Racing Post website says
"we may not see Shutter Speed at all. The weather has intervened. It could yet intervene some more.
As a county, Yorkshire is not necessarily unfamiliar to spells of sudden or sustained precipitation.
This is remarkably good for the rhubarb but, as Gosden pointed out on Tuesday, less attractive to a filly sired by Dansili out of an Oasis Dream mare.
For that reason, the unexpectedly heavy rain that struck the Knavesmire across Sunday and Monday,
with more now set to fall on York's opening day, has placed a question mark over the participation of Shutter Speed,"

Admit it, John, you read my thread and are having a rethink. :pac:
