    Hi,
4 of us playing golf in Mount Wolsely next weekend.
Besides Mount Wolsely Hotel can anybody recommend any good restaurant and nice pub for a few pints in Tullow on Friday night?
    Thanks

If you like Indian food, New Moon at the Dublin end of the town is good. The Tara Arms would be one of the busier pubs and also does bar food. The pub across the road- Forans, would be quieter , it's somewhat old fashioned, but not in a bad way.

Thanks for info...just looking at one of the other threads..waffle.
Seems like Sha Roe in Clonegall might be a good option and only about 20 minutes away, and seems to have a couple of decent pubs too, We have a non drinker in our group so no problem there, I know Carlow not too far either but not suitable for one of our group who has some relatives living there who he doesn't get on with
Should we book quickly or is it always busy on a Friday?

    Many Thanks

If you have a driver , then Sha Roe is indeed good .
I don't think the Indian would get fully booked out but might be no harm to book the day before . You can bring your own wine too.

Any time I've ever had food in The Riverbank Restaurant it's always been good.

If you can get to Sha Roe and get a table I'd go out of my way to get there! One of the top 5 restaurants in the country.

Sorry to reopen the thread, but ive recently taken a job in Tullow. Can anybody recommend things to do around the area other than the pitch and putt i passed on the road in?

Also, going off daft, there is very little to be rented for less than 700 a month in Tullow or even Carlow. Is there anywhere particular i can look for apartment share etc? Im on my own so i dont think i could afford any more than 400 or so a month. Am I being completely unrealistic?

I'd be open to anything really because watching Tv and Netflix for the evening is gonna get tiring, but it's hard to think of things to do on ones own :pac:

Took a quick drive around and it seems to be a lively enough place :)

Tullow have a fairly active kayaking club you should drop down to one of their intro sessions I think they have one running at the minute.

There's also the rugby club if that floats your boat I'm not sure if they run tag rugby their but they do in the Carlow club.

    Thanks!
