Smart thermostat

    Hi,

Being an IT guy that likes automation, I think I'll be changing the thermostat on my new home to a Nest or similar, but have a doubt.

The home has a control panel to program the heating and hot water times and then in the same room from the control panel there is one of these small thermostats with a rotating dial. There's a second zone with just a thermostat rotating dial.

If I decide to install a Nest thermostat, I know I will need 2, one for each zone, but what about zone 1 where I have the control panel and the rotating dial thermostat in the same room? Will I replace the control panel and eliminate the thermostat?

Hope I made myself clear in my explanation.

    Thanks,
    Mike
