America for two weeks in August - Where to go?

My girlfriend and I are going to America for two weeks this summer, from roughly 27th July to 11th August. Where would people recommend we go? None of us have been to America before. We're open to any ideas. We like the outdoors and typical touristy things, but really open to anything. Would it be crazy to pack in too many…

My girlfriend and I are going to America for two weeks this summer, from roughly 27th July to 11th August.

Where would people recommend we go? None of us have been to America before.

We're open to any ideas. We like the outdoors and typical touristy things, but really open to anything.

Would it be crazy to pack in too many flights into a two week holiday, or should we maybe stick to one area/region for this duration?
