As the title says. Looking at getting a new smartwatch and the gear 3 looks good. But looking good and doing what it is supposed to do can be two different things.

    Anybody with Gear 3 experience?

Runs Tizen not AndroidWear which means close to zero app integration. Wouldnt even consider anything not running Wear.

I'm the opposite and plan on buying one of these tomorrow. Sure it doesn't have as many apps as Android wear but I'm not buying it for the apps as I don't intend sending emails, texts, checking facebook, instagram etc. from a watch. Instead I'm buying it mainly for app notifications and it integrates very well with all your typical android apps for this sort of thing and svoice works just fine if you do need to speak to your watch. So convenience factor is as good as Android wear.

Also the health monitoring and tracking is excellent (have a gear fit 2 which has same features). So this is another big reason for getting the S3 over another Android watch. Samsung health is better than google fit in my experience and integrates very well with the Samsung health app.

The uix on the gear s3 is far superior to anything else I have seen also. Fit and finish is awesome. From all the reviews I have read it's the best non iOS smart watch out there. Hopefully I will not be dissapointed.

I have one and I love it. It does exactly what I expected and wanted it to do.
I keep my phone in my pocket and use it to keep me posted on my notifications, emails, texts, Whatsapp messages, tweets etc. A quick glance at the watch and if I need to respond to it I take out the phone. I also use it as a hands free for taking calls when I'm driving and a few other bits and pieces but it's never going to replace my phone or tablet, it's simply an addition to them. How many properly useable apps do you need on a one inch display...?
