Is the car running ok otherwise?

Not sure if that engine has 1 or 2 sensors - if only one then I would look at sensor first then wiring and worst case ECU

If it has 2 then unlikely both would go bad at the same time, so would start with wiring.

Unbolt the knock sensors, cleanup the mating faces on sensor and block.
    Sometimes works.

Removed the sensor itself more than 6 times and also tried another scrap yard sensor clean the bolt on area striped the wires all the way to the plug found water in the plug and a lot of rust but i cleaned that now is spotless unless the pins are corroded further in. Ill het harness next friday from scrap and try that if that doesn't solve it got to be ecu :(thanks guys for the replays

No mate in first gear in hesitant enough second gear is bad too third gear gets better but you can still feel ecu adjusting mixture ratio 4th is quit responsive, but sonetimes it just stalls would not take off clutch it rev and then picks up

It has 1 sensor and sometimes throws check engine light on dash annoying a lot and knowing me even if i get a new car ill still keep this one till i get it right

Maybe the knock sensor is not the issue, just the symptom?

I agree but what i am doing is driving the car more until more errors show up will scan the car tomorrow and see as yesterday and today car hesitated to start and then when started barely had stable rpm chucking once at 9rpm i drove and it cut off three times as if no petrol is feeding so i am going to drive it for few days and then scan. Egr is coming up insufficient flow but that would come anyway as ecu is cutting of air fuel spark mixture ratio because of knocking pinging or detonation its eithet vacum or harness more like the harness. Strange after it hesitates to take off couple of times after starting then there is no more issues seems like fuel pressure i am confused it could be both fuel and harness will have to hold ooff till friday
Its a golf if it turns out to be fuel ill splash 5litre all over it and burn it so then it wont show up no more errors thanks :)
