Not selling, but just to let you know I swapped a 36 down to a 34 on a 6800 chainset and performance is unaffected

    How do you mean?

You just changed the small ring is it? I didn't know you could do that. So the front derailleur can manage the jump from 34 to 52? And no need for chain link removal or anything??

I'm in a similar position - heading to the alps for a few weeks and need to sort a bike out with more appropriate gearing.

Also looking for a 6750 or 6800 compact chainset if anyone knows of one about.

Swapped out the 36 for a 34, nothing else, but ymmv.

It's against the Shimano instructions etc etc, but it works. Good practice would be to have a chain catcher installed anyway just in case.
