As the thread says - what are your improvement/development goals? Do you have any?

I never used to have any but recently have started to develop some.

    Mine are:

Sport/Fitness - Finally get my Black Belt in Judo. Get personal bests with different lifts in the gym. Swim more
Academic - Investigate another qualification, maybe an MBA.
    Work - Get a promotion
Cultural/Hobby - Take the A1 test in the German language. Visit 2 new countries a year.

    So how 'bout you?

I was going to say get skinny but I think after 15 years of trying I probably have to put that on the long term list.

Maybe even just a bucket list.

    Don't die.

Promotion in work would be my main focus at the moment. I'm hoping I can accomplish that in the next 6-9 months.

Short term... I think I'm going for pints later, the goal is to be in bed for 10 so I don't spend the day hungover tomorrow!!

I want to grow my own food, just enough to draw from my own back garden to be able to go out and pull up some veg or fruit when I need some. I was reading a book about the dachas in Russia and thought it was a brilliant idea and decided I was going to do start growing my own but I left it a bit late to start planting this spring. I'll need to study what to plant and when to plant it so there's probably a good bit of learning for me to do on that front but hopefully I'll be able to eat my own seasonal produce occasionally and have that good feeling about it.
I'm also buzzing off learning about certain foods and their particular properties, and how they were used in some remedies from published studies. I'm currently engrossed in understanding the relationship between us and "the nature" and how we can benefit from specific foodstuffs available to us and I've been experimenting with some of the theories and just generally enjoying being immersed in it. There's one thing in particular that I'm using and I'm really happy to have discovered it, mind blown.

Just making it to tomorrow is the short term aim. Medium term is to get a few more years.

As per an earlier thread I made, one goal is to develop a contingency plan for homelessness. Its not a menace in my life currently, but I want to make a safety net anyway.
I'm going off the basis of nothing but the clothes on my back and a door slamming behind me.
No 'bug out bags' or stashes/preparations. No third party dependence. Legal means only is a high priority. Assume zero-absolute minimum cash.

I'm pretty confident about the first couple of days. Working on a week long plan.
Actually found someone had stayed in one quite unusual place I had in mind.

Another goal is my second language which I've been cultivating for some years now. I'm up to full book reading level, (as long as I've an online dictionary).
And make use of Skype based teachers from time to time. Pretty much can understand 90% of what's being said, but initiating conversation and expressing myself is still a bit hard.

Working on ameliorating/fixing as much as possible, a long term illness. Definite progress has been made.

If I was you OP, I would focus on becoming an 'above average hero'.

Until you get that done, put everything else on ET's finger.

My short term goal is putting a willow screen fence on a block wall. Then making a slatted cedar fence on the other wall.

My immediate goal is getting a mint Magnum ice cream from the freezer. That will be acomplished soon.

My goals are all short term. Life has a funny way of tripping you up and turning those goals to dust. So I just want to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Continue to work on my self because there's a few issues that need further looking at. I just want to be happy with my lot.
