Vodafone TV & Broadband

    Hi

I am currently with Sky for TV and Eir for broadband.
Thinking of making a switch to Vodafone for TV and broadband.
I live near enough to exchange so my broadband speeds are decent for the country. 40 download / 15 upload.

I think their offering for TV is all done via the internet connection.

My main concern is the TV part: How do people find the TV in general, does it drop a lot if internet is iffy or if busy or if people usin git in house on other devices etc ?

How do people find the remote control and interface, crap or on a par with sky for example?

Have vodafone tv and bb about a year now, 50mb line the last while (used to be 70mb but seems to have been down graded to 50mb for some reason), anyway, tv runs very smoothly, as long as the net is working away the tv will be perfect, HD channels stream smoothly, I was having issues were my bb speed was only hitting 20mb for a few days recently and tv still ran perfectly, we probably have 4 or 5 different devices connected to Internet at the same time constantly and still never have issues.

    Thanks.

What's the remote control like ?
Is it fast to respond etc?

What's the user interface like in the TV. ?

Remote very responsive, ive never had issues with it, netflix button is useful if you use Netflix much means you can access Netflix without hooking up computer and switching over, prob not that useful if you have a smart tv though. the interface on tv is very nice, smooth transitions between channels, easy to navigate menus which are also customisable, useful smartphone app too were you can set recordings remotely if your out of the house, box does not need to be on, can also watch TV on the app

    hi

does it take long for the Vodafone TV box to boot up?

My sky box ( about 18 months old) takes forever to boot up.

Also, is the TV box and the modem box all the one or 2 separate boxes?

Try clearing out the deleted recordings that made a huge difference to my sky boxes.

They reserve a portion of your broadband for the tv service. So if you are getting 40Mb now then you will only get 20Mb with tv.
Also I think you need to have a minimum of 45Mb to be eligible for tv service.

40 Mb HSI would become 34Mb FR, then when the set top boxes are turned on each one takes another 4/8Mb off(HD/SD).

Hi, thinking of changing from Virgin Media to Vodafone. Anyone tell me what the Broadband speed is. They tell me I'll get 100mb. But with Virgin they told me I had 240mb and I'd be lucky to get 30-40mb on a Speedtest. With 3 kids watching Netflix, YouTube etc. I can't afford to change to a provider which has slow/bad broadband. Also, what's the TV like?
Appreciate any feedback from Vodafone customers. Thanks.

You're conflating wifi limitations and broadband speed.

If you use a new device and the 5Ghz network then you'll see more than 200Mb with Virgin.
