Hi all,
I am sure this is already been asked but i haven't seen it yet but here goes.
I have just turned 35 since February and I am a farmers son who may get some land inherited in the not so distant future (12/24/36/ months). I have 3rd Level Degree in Science/Bio Technology and am in full time employment but i do help out with farming on fathers farm. My long term goal is to do part time farming of up to 30 acres.
Since i have gone past 35 and have not done any green certificate, I believe I cannot avail of the maximum relief for Stamp Duty when inheriting land. I also know that having a green cert allows for great benefits for young farmers. For me, i may be 36 or 37 or 38  or higher before i ever inherit land, so will i lose out here also.
Is it still worth for me to do the Green Cert that will cost me up to €2000 considering i may not get farm til close to 40?

/thanks

Still worth it.. you will be under 40 when course complete, starting out with 30acres..course will pay for itself several times over in your first year

Think it's circa 3k now to do online which I assume is your preference with off farm job and degree
