As a lefty I'm finding it difficult to locate a place that has a good selection of used / new clubs in store around the Dublin area.

Can anyone recommend a place that has a good selection, I'm looking for a set of Irons at the minute. I've grown into the game enough the justify switching away from my beginner Spalding set.

    Would be willing to travel.

    Thank you

As a fellow lefty I feel your pain.
Its very hit and miss tbh. Best bet is probably one of the McGuirks, I'd say Leopardstown or Blanchardstown, or maybe Halpenny Golf, particularly the Lucan store, but really it depends on what you want. Might be worth booking a fitting somewhere and that way you can try out various options without or before ordering.
Most of the shops will have a couple of sets in stock of something like Ping G or Mizuno JPX, maybe one or two others, but that will be about it.

I'd take 15 minutes on the phone and call them all (what is there ? 4 or 5 McGuirks, 2 or 3 Halpenny and 2 American Golf, something like that anyway) to see what sets they have in stock, particularly second hand, and take it from there.

Seems definitely that we lefties are always left (;)) behind when it comes to finding new/better clubs either used or new.

Am exactly in the same spot as OP, with a Spalding SP-88 set that has served me very well over the last couple years, but I will be buying new improvement irons and decent woods over the next off-season.

My view would be to go to McGuirks/Halpenny have a chat with the lads, hit something and find out (if anything) what you like.... then try Lefthandedgolf.co.uk (Reskin of a Silvermere UK golf shop) or other online retailers, unless you are looking to get custom fit.

Used market is practically non existent for us lefties, seems that everyone hangs on to their clubs for a lot longer... probably because, like us, they have a hard time finding them :)

Golfbidder is a good used outlet, but as always, lefty selection is somewhat limited

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that you are not alone OP, we lefties need to stick together
    Cheers,
    Fernando

I got sorted in American Golf in Dundrum.

Picked up a lovely set of G25 Irons 4-PW in Black dot. Delighted.

As said by a previous poster, ring around and see what places have. I rang everywhere in Dublin and they were the only place with some used sets that interested me.

They actually have another set of G25 irons there at the moment.

Great to hear, and I actually live in dundrum so very convenient...
If I may ask was the set used or new? can you tell us how much it was?

My budget by EOY/Xmas will probably be within 500/600€ and I want to get a 5-P/SW iron set which should not cost more than 300€ as I need budget left for woods and putter...

Yeah, was in the McGuirks in Dundrum shopping centre during the week & they seemed to have a range of left-handed clubs there on sale, Nike in particular.

No bay to hit a couple of balls in, so you might be better off trying clubs elsewhere & trying to buy there after?
