    Hi guys,

Just to be brief, i had an Xoro sat receiver box for a few years, installed including FTA dish too. The box died and now I've went into a TV repair shop and bought the Amiko combo mini receiver.

I've plugged it all in correctly, i believe, and when i go to "find new device" on the TV...It doesn't detect it!! It is attached to TV via HDMI cable.. I've changed the cable to..No success. I'm using a Philips TV. When box is plugged in, it starts up with the LCD screen. So it does power on.

Please advise if you think I'm missing a step ...

    Thanks

On my Phillips tv, what you are looking for is called "Imput" on the remote control. You then select whichever "HDMI" you are plugged into,

You are not trying to install a new device on the TV. You should have a button labelled "input" or "source" or something similar on your TV's remote. Using that you should be able to select HDMI1, HDMI2 or wherever you have the box plugged into.

Thanks a mil Gerry...I've just done all that and finally i got access to Amiko... Really happy with it and i do appreciate your help. Just another quick question...All the programmes came with it...I didn't have to scan and save the like i had to in the Xoro receiver. However, there are no terrestrial channels showing?! I have to use my TV remote and switch back to the TV. Is there any way i could get them all on the receiver?

Because terrestrial channel settings depending on which part of the country you are in, you will need to do a terrestrial scan to find your local signals. I'm not familiar with that specific box so I can't advise you. If you have a manual, look up terrestrial tuning. Someone else here more familiar with that box may be able to give you a blow-by-blow guide.

    This video might help

OP, are you using the default Spark OS or enigma 2.

If enigma 2, do you know what image it is

    Hi....

I have no idea what any of this means LOL.

You TV is MPEG 4 enabled so it can catch all the Saorview terrestrial channels.tv is about 7 years old.

The Sat dish is Free To Air.

Basically it means what operating system the box is using.

Would help to know to help you tune in Irish channels
