Query types of car insurance/cover

Currently covered for social and domestic and driving to work. If I am to bring work tools-nothing worth insuring and not even worth robbing!- to work in the car, do I need to change the car insurance type? Not planning to use car for deliveries. Don't want to discover I would be uninsured if I take on the job.
