Thinking about ordering new Superb 1.4TSI with DSG. Unfortunately this engine is available only with Ambition spec, would rather go with Style. Need to add some extras. Anyone owns one with this engine? Any thoughts? Pros, cons? Thanks a lot.

I test drove this engine but in a Passat, I was surprised how nice it was. Power is decent and a nicer drive IMO than the 150 TDI.

Spec wise.. ambition is not terrible... you could probably spec it up to almost Style level for the price difference between both, it is a pity Skoda Ireland don't offer better options on petrol engines. The columbus nav is a big chunk on its own, 1500e I think.. the cheaper nav at 500e is plenty IMO.

I have a sportline which is built on ambition spec with a bundle of extras under the sportline pack.

Thanks. I'm thinking to go without Sat nav, there is Android Auto and the screen is the same size. What I found on UK forums the only difference between Amundsen and Bolero is lack of nav in Bolero. And I definetelly don't need optical drive and sd card slot, i'm using Spotify and Tidal for music.

I really wanted those nice leather seats from Style but they are 2700€. However there is Ambition Pack(1000€) that includes Alcantara seats, bigger alloys and driver alert system.

Definitely adding Canton sound, Kessy, Rear view camera, front/rear parking sensors, sunset glass.

Not sure about Blind spot detect, Tri Zone climate, electrical boot.

Bolero is now 8" screen right? When I ordered it was 6" and that was the main reason I went with Amundsen... I have not used the nav yet, using google maps over android play instead.

Sportline has alcantara/leather seats which are nice.. my last 3 cars were full leather but I like the alcantara better.

Yes, Bolero is 8inch. It will be a nice car with all those options.

If it wasn't for 0% apr I would rather go for Kodjaq.

Isn't the 1.4 TSi being phased out and replaced with a brand new 1.5 TSi which is supposed to be more fuel efficient? At least it is being phased out in the VW range.

Yeah, 1.5tsi will be available with the new Golf this summer. Not sure when it's coming to Skoda. Might be a while tbh.
I'm hearing good things about the 1.4tsi thought.

The Octavia is getting it in a few months too. I'd imagine they'll be doing the same across the board.

Not sure id want to do the beta testing on their new engine.

I have a 1.4tsi in my Leon and it's a great engine it's been well fine tuned at this stage and reliable I'd be going for that. As said no one knows what the new one will be like reliability wise the 1.4tsi had plenty of issues when it first came out will the 1.5 be the same. I wouldn't be buying the 1.5tsi for at least the first year or two. I don't think you will be disappointed with the 1.4tsi anyway.

Is it available with dsg? The 150ps version and any DSG 1.4 are missing off the price list

Yeas, it is. Price list on their website is old, October 2016 I think. It's on the configurator too.

The 1.5 is basically the 1.4 reworked a little. It will probably be fine. And the current 1.4 isn't the one that gave all the hassle anyway.

Tbh I'm half tempted by a sportline dsg combi with that 1.4 myself at the moment. I'd like to try one before buying though but it doesn't look possible. Works well in the Golf though.

I don't think you can get sportline with 1.4, only 2.0tsi.

It's on the configurator but that's no guarantee:)

Must call into the dealer over the weekend and see what the story is.

I was looking at new Skoda Superb style.
I was hoping to get the Beige leather interior but it seems on the configator and the paper brochure that the style is black leather only and the L& K has the choice of the beige leather.
I it possable to get beige leather interior on the Skoda Superb style like the picture of the L&K below.

I was not impressed by the petrol engines. They seemed very small for a car that size.
I am going with the 2.0 L 150 bhp Diesel.

    I am driving a 2003 Volvo S60 2.0T Petrol. road tax €710

It is a drop-in replacement, the block is identical. They have redone some maths and simply lengthened the piston travel, hence bigger capacity.

Treat it as a engine facelift, it should be more reliable than the predecessor. Although there might be a new variable geometry turbocharger that comes with it...

All smart phones have Google maps. I have a Fabia and can use voice control to get directions, set routes and enquire as to traffic conditions on my route via my car. The idea of spending 1500eu on something that is freely available and hi tec is bonkers.

Unless standard, I would never again pay extra for satnav in a car. I've got it in two cars to date and it's out of date after 2-3 years. I'm not talking about maps, but functionality. Most satnav is mad money as an option.

There's updated headunits in them from the week, the same as the ones in the new Golf and Octavia. The smartlink will do everything a built in Nav will do.

The basic Amunsden Nav is ~?440 in them and with the updated headunits it offers a few extra features like remote heating. I ordered one last week and got the Nav to mess around with that, if it didn't have that gadget to mess with I wouldn't have bothered.

I was told that in the showroom on Friday the 1.5 150BHP automatic is now available

    Poor economy though

    The 19" wheels?

How did you find them? They look great but I'd be worried that the ride would be too harsh.

Wont have the car for a while yet but on the one I test drove with them they were fine, much smoother and more controlled than the rs I had before it on 18s.

Have 19s on mine... ride is comfortable, had a Mazda 6 before with 19s and it was very clunky at low speeds around town etc.. Superb on 19s is about the same as an A6 on 17s I had previously.

I get about 38mpg if I drive conservatively
    like the one below

I had a disable seat swivel fitted by government approved installed in Limerick

Lots of paper work later and primary medical cert later the car is now exempt for road tax. €570

I can now get my mother who has parkinson disease in to the car.
