Fitting & Custom Clubs

I know club fitting etc. is covered elsewhere but I had a couple of specific questions I was hoping someone could help with:

I am back in Ireland for two weeks shortly and am looking at getting a new set of clubs. I think I might as well try a custom fitting. Can anyone tell me how long it takes to customise clubs after a fitting (as I have a narrow window before leaving Ireland again)?

Also, what happens if I get a fitting but don't buy clubs. I presume (with the exception of Foregolf) I would be provided with my specs etc. Is it then simply a case of bringing these to the next golf shop I am in or is it possible to order online according to these specs?

I recently got clubs from Foregolf, they said there was a 2 week wait after the fitting/ordering of the clubs but I got them after 10 days. Think it depends on if they have what you on hand or have to order them in.

They do offer global delivery with UPS, when I was in there they where shipping clubs to Australia.

A lot of places charge for the fitting and will give you your specs. You are free to go to other golf shops then and buy the clubs. But the original place normally knocks the cost of the fitting from the set so you'd need a significant discount from another retailer to cover the fitting cost too. You could always look on golfbidder and ebay too to see if they have the clubs specs you are after post fitting.

I've always been told to allow 10 working days for deliver of the fitted clubs.

I had a iron fitting (JOX900F) from Mizuno, ordered the recommended set/spec through halpenny last October and got them in about a week.

Anyone here get fitted by foregolf?

I'm off 14 and have been using a Jack Nicholas golden bear starter set since I started playing a few years ago.

Driver started rattling recently so I bought a second hand ping, no fitting, just hit a few balls with few different drivers in American golf and the ping felt the best.

Reckon I've gotten an extra 20 yards or so out of it. So am thinking what would a fully fitted brand new set of clubs add!:)

    Is it worth it?

I have been fitted by foregolf, found them great to deal with and a great sevice, I defo improved from when I got the clubs to now. But I wouldn't put it completely down to clubs.

If I was to get fitted again I would get it done by a pro who has some sort of ball tracker, as they will tweak your swing slightly if you have flaws, where as foregolf fit a club to suit your flaws, if that make last sense? No disrespect to foregolf, I love he clubs they have fitted me too.

Hi all, just a follow on question. The place that I propose to get fitted at does not have range access so I presume some form of ball tracker will be used. I usually find it a bit harder to tell how I am striking it like this as opposed to actually watching ball flight etc. on the range. Any thoughts on whether this makes a difference in terms of the club fitting or whether people normally look for fittings to be done at a range in general?

You are much better off seeing the ball flight, after all that's the feedback you use on the course. Would also say you are much better hitting off grass then a mat.
