hi guys. i'm looking at pulling out an old fireplace and getting a replacement job done. it has a disconnected back boiler behind it though, does that have to be pulled out? it seems to me that it would have to come out for a stove to go in, but not for just a new fireplace.

can anyone send me a recommendation for a supplier? i dropped in to one place who were quoting €2,400 for their most basic hearth/mantle with a stove or €1350 for a standard fireplace, both of which seem very steep to me. i'm not overly sold on getting a stove, more with cutting the cost right down. thanks!

I got stove, hearth and flue for ?1500. I didn't need a mantle but the surround was done with natural stone for an extra ?350. It was a great job and really good value. He works for a company installing fireplaces and will give you a certificate for the job. He's on andstoves on adverts.
