Lads can I get advice on an ad a relative has up? Think it qualifies for a bangernomic

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/honda-civic-saloon/15414745

Is it ok or over priced or just not desired, etc

I'm thinking the high insurance for an old car is prob ruining it, he'd have kept it otherwise

Looks alright, mileage is low. whats holding it back is lack of test.

NCT is very short. You're asking someone to take a punt at ?750 on the unknown. A buyer might suspect the owner knows it won't pass and wants rid of it. To take a risk on it with such a short test someone will probably only be willing to part with half that asking price.

Sound lads he's humming and hawing wondering if he should test it I'll book her in she's fly it. Was gonna buy her myself but got a 04 Focus for nothing and have like 2 spare 01's then for parts :p

Plus I couldn't deal with insurance renewal in a years time like I had on a 01 there lately.

With a new test is she priced alright or could she make more?

That's about as much as you could hope for. Headlights could do with a bit of a compoound, they're gone a bit yellow.

Priced alright with a new test. Insurance will be a problem for a lot of potential buyers. Location doesn't help either. Once it has a new test, I'd take any offer over €600. If he's in a hurry to sell, don't bother with the test and put it up for €499 and hope for the best!

Thanks very much all, I'll book her in, he's not in a rush so I'll update with a fresh NCT :)

Small thing, should I put the NCT in the heading?

"Honda Civic Saloon - NCT 3/7/18"

    ?

Sure, why not. The fact that it will have just passed an NCT early, giving it a very long test, will be a strong selling point. GLWS :-)

I'd say the biggest factor is the age, people are aware that insurance companies are not insuring older cars and that one being 15 years now means it's going to be more expensive to insure (if their insurance company will even insure it at all)
