Just wondering how much (if anything) has anyone got paid from playing at the likes of the smaller festivals in Ireland?

Greenly it would seem atleast your basic costs are covered. Depends on the act, there would not be a flat fee. I'd also assume there are many bands out there will to do it for the exposure.

My band played a few of them. We only ever got expenses from one of them and it was a very small amount.
The rest payed in beer, 'exposure' and festival tickets.
There was a bit of uproar about it over the last few years when Jim Carroll exposed the lack of payment for bands lower down the bill at the Irish festivals. I would say covering expenses is more the norm now.
