I need some advice here guys.

I am self employed - I have a limited company.
I pay myself and my wife a monthly wage (for now)
I am in the process of splitting up with the wife. She has asked me for payslips for the past 4 years. I don't get any payslips. I fill out an excel sheet supplied by my accountant and that calculates nett pay and tax payable etc. I gave her copies of these and she is not happy. She insists on me giving her payslips?
I have been on to my accountant but have not heard back yet?

Does anyone know what I can give her, to make her happy???

    Thanks,
    F.

You might be self employed, but your wife is working for you. It is mandatory that payslips are provided in employment law, as the deductions were being made.

What does she need the payslips for? Was she given P60s each year?

You say you don't get payslips. You should be producing them.
Regardless, once you have made deductions and paid the money out, you should easily be able to produce these records.

If you're paying yourself from a limited company you aren't self employed, you are an employee of the company, you should be getting payslips too!

Ask your accountant. Chances are they're using some kind of automated software like Thesaurus for calculating pay, but just not bothering to generate the payslips because of the nature of your employment.

    OP Here,

The excel sheet calculates everything for me, nett pay, PAYE, PRSI and nett pay for each of us and I write the cheques for our pay then.

I have spoken to a few of the lads where I work and none of them get any payslips, just the remittance email from the company we work for.

Who do I get payslips off?

Is there software I can buy to do this for me?

I haven't heard back from the accountant yet.

    Thanks,

You write the payslips. you can use word, excel, or any of a dozen payroll softwares. your accountant probably could do it either.

    OP Here

I have downloaded a Payroll package (payback.ie) and it was all going well.
Until the monthly nett wage did not match what was paid out (according to my accountants excel sheet) there was a gap of around €250 in my wifes nett wage and I dont know why? I put in the monthly gross wage (the same as that on the excel sheet) so why was it different? PRSI band is A, I put in the correct tax credits etc..
Can anyone explain why this maybe the case?

    Thanks.

This is a payslip - it doesn't need to be generated through software for it to be legitimate, it just needs to show gross pay, deductions, and net pay, and the totals should match your P60.

Have you done the manual calcs to check that the spreadsheet is correct? Are you taking tax credits and cut off into account?
