Anyone know of any good translation companies in Cork and what it costs to get a birth and marriage cert translated ?
I recently got one document translated stating my wife lived at a certain address and she was quoted 30 euro is that the normal price ?

Localeyes.com is a global translation agency with an office in cork and would charge by the word. Different languages have different per word rates... but would probably have a minimum 1 hour charge for something like that. .

Does the translator need to be in cork? Sounds like you just need a freelancer.... Hire one here.... Again, pricing usually by word, and/or subject matter expertise...

Modern Polyglots is a good translation company in Cork city. They charge 30 euro per page but if it's a shorter text you can ask for a discount and they will usually give it to you.

If you need a certified translation a freelancer usually won't be able to provide it, you need a registered company to sign off on it.
