Timber floor does now. I have used 3/4 ply. No need to weld up holes. Did three mk4 uk shoguns this way. €450 for the paper work side.

Thinking about getting this done on a UK Range Rover Evoque/ BMW X3 or if i can afford it, a second hand UK Disco sport. probably in beginning of 2018.

Can i just buy one and drive it back ( not sure whether the insurance co will cover a passenger vehicle on a commercial policy for a few days)

how long do i have to get it converted to 2 seater commercial and get all the paperwork done?

Is there a company over here (Cork or Dublin) that i could just drive my "car" in and get a van back , with all the paperwork done etc?, i would be willing to take the rear seats out, seat belts etc, but for them to do the welding , and floor panel, windows.

whats the situation with the BIK  on a converted van? , is it 5% , i.e. , same as buying a new van from the dealer?

    1. Min €50 normally if transferring to private car similar value and garage transfer but as you'll be owner then don't be surprised if declined

    2. Cert of conformity may be needed thus insurance companies may on accept work down by BMW/Lrover and not work done by local guy

CVRT will pass a car as commercial with simple tinted window stickers but original built jeep must have metal panels !!

If i cant cover it with my commercial policy when i should be able to  drive it back from UK and to the converter's workshop on my wifes private motor policy, but your right, the days of free temporary transfer of insurance are gone.
