EDIT: this will be for everyday use.

My question is regarding noise cancellation.

How much better would it be with a pair of bose QC?

The passive noise cancellation on the sennheisers are amazing as they are designed to cancel out the noise of a DJ booth, but they are on-ear cups and cause some discomfort after a solid hour or so of wear.

Is there any data on comparing the noise cancelling / blocking of both?

    Over-ears block noise better.

Active Noise-cancelling (ANC) won't sound as good in critical listening BUT they'll sound a lot better in daily use, since they remove other sound.

If you can wait, I'd save up and go full-on Over-ear, ANC + bluetooth wireless; once you're freed from wires you'll wonder how you ever lived with them.
