Note to Mods - Not looking for medical advice.

I need a recommendation of a "good "physio in Dublin who specializes in Running.

I have always had a sore lower back while running but a herniated disc about 3 years ago has meant almost no running since then.

I have been to 2 different physios over that period. Both recommended the same homework stretches and exercises, which i done 4-5 times a week for the last few years. I am stronger and more stable due to this but still can only run for very short duration without severe lower back pain.

I need a recommendation of a specialist who may be able to help me resolve this.

While not Dublin, i would recommend Mark Kenneally in Celbridge, he is a Olympic runner and physio, in The Performance Clinic . Lee who works with him is also a good runner. I felt that they understood both my problem and frustration. No other connection than a satisfied customer

I know you said Dublin, but Celbridge is only 20 minutes away.
He knows quite a bit about running too :p

I go to Pearse St Physio

    http://www.pearsestreetphysio.com/

I'm not sure if all the physios there run (I know Aidan Woods used to be a mountain runner), but they all do sports and I know a lot of runners go there and are very happy with them.

I go to Tadhg there, and think he is great.

They also do a runners' Pilates class that's great for keeping runners on the road :-)

Again sorry this physio is not in Dublin but Barry Kehoe in Newbridge is exceptional, he has a vast knowledge of running and he runs for Newbridge AC. I've been dicked around a few times trying to find satisfactory Physio's but he's excellent and he very rarely asks you to come back for repeat sessions unless he really feels u need it. I hope this helps!!

Another vote for Mark Keneally in cellbridge performance clinic. What he doesnt know about running isnt worth talking about. Really nice chap too. :)

Also, OP... Physio's can only do so much work, and you may need to consider a surgical route and/or pain management. Mark will tell you pretty quick if he cant help you.

Not sure where you are in Dublin but can highly recommend First Physio Plus in Clondalkin leisure centre. Both Mick and Fergus there are excellent. Both run so know the score.

Liam Heavin in UCD did great work on a bad groin injury for me.

Marie Elaine Grant near the Montrose Hotel (as was) is very good, too.

I've been to Andy and to John for sports massages and they are really good too! Everyone in there is really nice & really good at helping runners get back on the road. :)
