    Odd that they have retained two letter reg nos when others now have moved to single letters. (Tipp or Waterford)

    Not really, there's reasoning behind it. Something to do with counties with same name cities cities having one letter and everything else having 2.

    Can't remember the reasoning for Tipperary, something to do wi the type of council it has.

    Waterford (W and WD) and Tipp (TS and TN) had a split reg system in the past (now W and T respectively). Think they changed due to county council streamlining things. Limerick was another county (L and LK) changed to just (L).

    No, then Wicklow and Wexford would feel discriminated against. How would we otherwise differentiate them from Waterford! Or Carlow from Cork :pac:
