Worn bearing causing the disk to warp

after having the front disks done less than a month ago, one of them warped again. Brought it do the dealer and he says the bearing is done and caused the warping - I dont see the fella who done it last time taking any of the blame for not spotting the bearing issue.

Thinking I might just do it myself this time.

So how big a job is doing the disk and bearing myself ?

    BMW F10 -

    thanks

I replaced the front disks on my 5 series about 3 - 500 kms ago but the vibration when breaking is back

Brought it to the main dealer and they tell me the cause is a worn wheel bearing.

The odd thing is the bearing never made any noise or gave any normal indication its worn.

Anyone ever hear of a bearing causing a disk to warp ?

Is the disc warped or is the vibration being caused by the play in the bearing?

    Are the tyres,wheels ok?
Perhaps swap them around front to back.
Jack up car and try to rock wheel by grabbing it at 12 and 6 o clock

According to BMW the disk is warped, and it was caused by the bearing.

Do you think the disk might be fine and its just the bearing causing the wobble when I brake ?

Hard to say. When i was in the game we would measure disc run out with a gauge.
That said if you have play in other components you obviously cannot measure the runout.
It may be a case that it is easier to change bearing and disc together rather than changing the bearing and hoping the disc is ok...does the bearing sit in the disc on that model?

Am I the only one wondering about the seeming contradiction?

OK, so someone felt the necessity to merge my2 threads.

Just to be clear - I did not do it myself last time, the first post was in the DIY section asking if its a big job to do it myself.

The second thread - and now second post is asking if its likely the bearing is the actual cause of the warped disk.
