Qualifications for installing oil-fired range

I have an old solid-fuel range which I am replacing with a Stanley oil-fired range. The range is for cooking, heating (10 rads in a small single-storey dwelling) and hot water.

What qualifications, competence and/or experience should I be looking for in the installer? Neighbour had a "general builder" install range. Can anyone do this work? I know diddly-squat about heat engineering so am concerned that whoever puts this system in, knows what they are doing, and is working to some kind of safety and professional standards.

Would really appreciate advice as I want to get the job done in the next few weeks. I have purchased the range but do not know where to look for an installer in whom I can be completely confident.

Mostly a plumber would do the work, sometimes in conjunction with a builder and electrician. Phone Stanley for a recommendation for someone to commission it after installation. Let installers know that you are having it commissioned by Stanley and that they said that -for guarantee to be valid- it needs to be installed to Manufacturers instructions. Important points are, Flue, Ventilation, Plumbing incl. oil supply and storage, and wiring.

I wouldn't just let anyone attempt to fit it.
I would also start with Stanley and ask them can they recommend an installer who will install it to their specifications and commission the unit as well.
Failing that the Oftec website might be next to look for an experienced installer who will fit it in accordance with manufacturers instructions and commission it.
Its not a one man job, but its easy for someone to get it wrong.

Thanks Flyer, Wearb! It is "being commissioned" this week before delivery. I will contact Stanley and get recommendation. Judging from the technical info on their website it is indeed a complicated installation process and my motto is "Do it once, do it right!". Very grateful for your responses.

It can't be commissioned before it's installed. It can only be done once installation is complete.

Commissioned is the word used for paperwork form that is returned to the manufacture confirming it has been installed to current standards, and for guarantee, it also must contain the name of installer and who commissioned it. (That can be the same person if their approved)
Carbon monoxide alarms must also be fitted with ALL indoor appliance.
