Hi can anybody recommend this car,
Drove it today and seemed solid
Just need it for work and back, probably 50km per day

    http://m.alanhartemotors.ie/viewanad.php?ad_id=1702165&r=

I also done a cartell check and 1 of the entrys was in red something about 31 months
Is this because it wasnt nctd within the 24 month time frame
Any info would be appreciated lads as the clock is on as I've to give back my company motor because of a new job.

Seems expensive for an 11 year old car. Half the asking price would be more realistic I think.

My uncle who was with me,also mentioned that
I couldnt get him to move on the price but as he said he's not selling a pig,i have a bit of a strategy for that.
I'm just wondering about the reliability of it and the nct flag

A car of that age being sold by a dealer will always have a sizable chunk of the asking price being his profit margin. You have to weigh that up against what sort of warranty cover are you going to get from a dealer on an 11 year old car.

€3,250 for an 11yr old Octavia....... ABSOLUTELY NUCKING FUTS....... I can't believe a dealer puts "Drives as new" in the text of an 11 year old car, come on ... WALK AWAY, forget about it AND FIND A DIFFERENT CAR

Thanks for the input,i did stick the reg into beep beep and adverts and the valuation is right in line with whats being offered, however I'm still asking about this engine
    Is it reliable?
I will deal with the price on a separate issue if anybody can point me right

how are they getting that valuation though? I could just take the average asking price of the top 5 most expensive examples of a similar car. Doesn't mean it's an accurate reflection of selling prices.

You would buy a 07 possibly 08 Avensis 1.6 for that not too much more:

    I havent a clue bazz
I just put the details in and its what the sites valued the car at,also i have been looking at avensis as well and i only want to buy frim dublin as if i have a problem I'll be parking it outside their gates
The difference in prices is also in my favour and contributing towards tax and my own policy since I've always been on my companys policy.

That would be a reliable car, but as others have said, the price is off the charts.
