If the house costs 190 000 euros and the deposit is 10%, on average, how much more on top of this can you expect to pay upfront when buying the house. I have no clue as this is our first mortgage.

    appreciate the help, thanks

Stamp duty 1% of the price if house is second hand. Zero if newly built.
Legal fees €1500 approx but need to shop around
    Legal outlays €1500 approx
Furniture moving if you have any!

You do have to pay stamp duty on new builds.
The only difference is that it is calculated on the base price without VAT.

So on a new house costing 113,500 (including 13.5% vat), you would pay 1% on 100,000

This isn't the case, stamp duty is 1% of the cost of a new build before vat. If it's a new build costing €190k the cost ex vat is about €165k (vat on a new build is 13.5%) so your stamp duty would be approx €1650.

Yes sorry. New houses used to be exempt back when we had high rates.
