Holiday over Christmas

I'm thinking of spending Christmas somewhere nice and sunny this year. Looking for something a bit more exotic than the Canaries, but otherwise open to suggestions. Nice beach, nice weather, decent food would be the main criteria.

Any suggestions on nice spots to head at that time of year?

    Thanks!

    Cuba!

I was there till 23rd December a few years ago and was sorry i didn't stay over Christmas.

They do celebrate Christmas but in a really low key way, i loved it!

(I wouldn't be the biggest fan of the Christmas frenzy, to put it mildly!)

Thanks for the suggestion. I was in Cuba before and I found the food not to be great at all. Plus, I believe prices have sky-rocketed in the last couple of years.

Mexico is definitely on the list! Any particular areas or resorts you'd recommend? I've heard Tulum is nice.

I'll agree about the food, although I didn't find it a problem - just a bit samey.

Not a problem for me, when there were mojitos and music and all that architecture and atmosphere everywhere :D

(Mind you, my pal who was seriously into seafood thought she'd died and gone to heaven, eating lobster for half nothing every night!!)

Puerto Vallarta, there's direct flight to there from Manchester and Gatwick, not direct from Ireland unfortunatly
