    Hi all,

I am looking to go to the Maldives in September but have been told that it will be monsoon season during that time.

Has anyone been in September /October? What was the weather like?

    Thanks!

Hello, yes Sep will be monsoon season. We were booked once to go in Nov but had to pull in the dates as my wife got pregnant and could fly in Nov
Weather wasn't great to be honest, some good days, but more over cast & cloudy than what you would like to have over there
Plus it rained every night. You would be walking to the restaurant and get caught in a flash downpour. Had to bring a brolly with us always.
Its a once in a life time place to go, but for me yes I would avoid Sep

Went in October 15. Had one day with rain for 3/4 hours, and it really rained. We just went snorkelling as was still warm. another day overcast and the other 8 was pure blue sky's and sunny.

There's no guarantee as to what the weather will be so always a risk in Monsoon season. If you are booking no harm in checking out what activities are available should it rain for the week, just as a backup plan.
