Med 1

This is a question Revenue should have answered for me, but they have failed to do so, so I am hoping someone here can put me out of my misery.

I am a PAYE taxpayer, and I used to claim my annual medical expenses (mainly prescriptions and GP visits) by using the Med 1 form.

I have now, after a lot of difficulty, opened a "my account" on revenue.ie, but nowhere on that account can I find any access to Med 1 or anything similar. The nearest I can get is something about nursing home costs, which is irrelevant to me.

Could anyone please, please point me to the right place?

    Go into my account

    review my tax 2013-2017

pick the year. scroll though confirming relevant info until you get to section on tax credits.

then fill out your medical info.

    Thanks, Ciaran.

I did as you said, and I was able to submit a basic round figure for each year.

I am not sure when or whether I am supposed to submit supporting documentation.

In any case, the whole thing is very, very fiddly.

supporting documents are asked for feom a random sample. if you are selected for verificatin you will get a message through myenquiries.

You were never required to submit supporting documentation with the MED 1. Only if you were later requested to do so. This is stated on the MED 1.

The credit is under health expenses, which should be pretty self explanatory
