Hi. General advice needed. I am looking at 2014/2015 insignias in U.K..Is 50000 miles since 2015 a bit too much . I think that it's still only 50k on the clock which is young for a car.but is there any reason I wouldn't go with a fleet car/business car. Thanks

I've had a ex-fleet Insignia, was very happy with it. It was clean and serviced properly. 50k miles over 2-3 years is not that much. I guess some people may say that fleet cars are usually driven hard, but that can also be true with a personal car driven by a bad driver.

Like a private car depends on who drove it. I drive a company car....big mileage but it gets serviced on time and nothing gets neglected....some i know service it when the oil light comes on...
    So check service history.

Do you know is the 14 insignia a 'new shape' ..subtle as it may be. Web tells me it updated in Sept 13 so I think I would need a 14 to be sure. From photos I cant tell difference

Yes, a 14 is definitely the facelifted version.
The difference is more obvious in the interior, new steering wheel, dials and centre console.

We love seeing fleet cars in work. You can recommend anything that even slightly needs replacing and they will do it, no questions asked.

Generally I would say fleet cars could be maintained better than a lot of cars in private ownership. I wouldn't confuse a fleet car with a hire car. Most fleet cars will only have had one driver.

One other item and again its only an opinion
Carbase in Bristol tell me that the checks they have done on the car are more rigorous than the RAC do. They roadtest the vehicles and
their technicans are trained by the RAC. I know you should never trust a salesman but.....i think a 14 car with 50k on the clock cant have much wrong with it. I could waste another 200 pounds sending a mechanic to tell me the same thing..
