Cheapest Kitchen Cabinets for a Utility Room?

I'm doing up the utility in our fixer-upper at the moment and want to add some cabinets but the budgets really tight at this stage. More than capable of putting the units together and installing myself but unfortunately the Ikea KNOXHULT system won't fit due to pipework and sizing etc.

    I need the following:

1 x 600mm base unit with service gap
1 x 500mm base unit with service gap

    1 x 600mm wall unit
    1 x 500mm wall unit
    1 x 300mm wall unit
(or any combination of wall units totalling 1400mm)

Simple white mdf doors and hinges for the above (no need for soft close)
    1100mm of kickboard and fittings

1700mm of lamintated light wood effect (e.g. beech) countertop and fittings (to extend beyond one side of the units over a washing machine)

I can see that B&Q and Homebase have all of the above but it seems to add up pretty quickly and since both of their websites have the prices in sterling (and both presumably use different conversion rates in store) it's difficult to compare them.

Has anyone tackled a similar project recently that could recommend the cheapest place to get the above? (If anyone's in the trade and wants to give me a quote by PM either, that'd be great)

Do you need to buy new? Check out adverts or donedeal for cabinets going from free to very cheap. As an example: http://www.adverts.ie/for-sale/q_kitchen+cabinets/ Though you might need to check out a few ads to get everything you want.

Alternatively you could check out Noyek Newmans - http://www.noyeks.ie/ and the Pannelling Centre - http://www.in-house.ie/ [in-house have a showroom and advisors linked to the panelling centre, the PC itself is the more cash and carry department].

We bought our kitchen in Noyeks and are very happy with it. It can take a while for the assistant to plan the layout and come back to you but it sounds like that's something you have sorted out yourself.

I've had a look on Adverts but unfortunately nothing suits at the moment and not sure that I have the time to wait for the perfect sized units to come up.

Will mail noyeks and the Panelling Centre for quotes. Don't really need a designer as we've recently done the kitchen and I learnt enough from that for the job at hand. :)

Been looking at a few sites and it seems 1100mm kitchen units are more popular than I'd thought :) So that should bring the cost down somewhat :)

1 x 1100mm base unit with service gap
    1 x 1100mm wall unit
    1 x 300mm wall unit
Simple white mdf doors and hinges for the above (no need for soft close)
    1100mm of kickboard and fittings
1700mm of lamintated light wood effect (e.g. beech) countertop and fittings (to extend beyond one side of the units over a washing machine)

It seems I'm definitely best to get the cabinets separately and then just go into IKEA for the counter-top.

Round them alright RobAMerc, certainly one of the best quotes I've put together so far!

LOL, just got a quote in Woodies on my lunchbreak. All the kitchen specialists are giving me quotes in and around the 500/600 euro mark. Woodies quote? Wait for it.... €1,600!

The quotes were all coming in north of €500 for very basic units so I've decided to sacrifice the 10cm we'll lose by going with Ikea and use their Metod units. It just didn't make sense to spend an extra 200 for the sake of 10cm of cabinet width when I can spend under €400 in IKEA and upspec the rest (higher wall units, deep drawers instead of base cabinets etc.)

We put IKEA units in our utility 8 years ago and they are perfect, good quality stuff.

When you say the ikea ones won't fit, are you sure?

I went with Ikea in the end and they fit with the help of a jigsaw ;)

The awkward part I had was that the Ikea units only come in widths that are multiples of 20cm whereas I "needed" an 1100mm run. I decided I could make do with an 1000mm unit in that run and leave a gap beside the fridge freezer which Mrs Sleepy pointed out gave me somewhere to install an ironing board holder so it worked out in the end (plus by going with Ikea I was able to up-spec everything to get ceiling height wall units, deep drawers in place of cabinets, soft close hinges and still come in under budget!
