Brecon Beacons in July

Hi, Looking for recommendations of towns/villages near (50 miles+/-) of the Brecon Beacons in southern wales. Will be travelling around a bit but would like to be based near a nice place for evening food etc. Looked at Abergavenny but very hard to find anywhere for 6 people...

try ebbw vale. I think there is a premier inn there,also cymbran has a premier inn, other towns in that area are mertyr tydfil and tredegar

Airbnb has many options available where you can rent entire houses/cottages with up to 5 beds. Also check out Brecon town which is a little smaller than Abergavenny but has a lot of character.
