Could anyone tell me what happens if you breed a cat with different pedigree?

Say if I breed with GCCFI and WCF cat, will there be a problem with the pedigree?

Clarification both cats are the same breed

Well assuming it would follow normal rules you'd no longer have a pedigree cat; you'd have a moggie but happy to be corrected if I'm wrong.

I think it would be worth contacting either of those organisations for clarity. Assuming you would be breeding the same breeds of cats together, right?

My impression from the OP is that they are two different registries, like an Irish Kennel Club registered dog being bred to an American Kennel Club registered dog... at least that's what I'm thinking. :p

Is it possible to register one of the cats with the other registry?
I know you can register uk kennel club dogs with Irish kennel club, don't know about cats registry though, call and ask?

To register kittens with Gccfi both must be registered with the gccfi. And both cats must have an active registration.
Not sure re wcf as it isn't in Ireland.

For future reference for everyone else

    Got a response from GCCFI

"I checked with GCCF and we would require a 4 generation certified pedigree for the WCF registered cat and in the case of a male an entirety certificate. Also you would need to supply a mating certificate."
