Ronnie's out in front by quite a bit. No surprises though. Well maybe Steve Davis might be expected to be a little higher.

I can't believe Davis doesn't have more. All I remember from the '80s was him potting balls. OK and some great safety play.

Did the pockets get easier after the 80s

It should be noted if they did

Steve was before 'breaking the pack' was a thing, so players tended to make 40/50 breaks and run for cover, leading to a midframe safety battle. His safety was so superior that he tended to win this section of the frame as well.

Hendry was the first of a new breed who opened the pack at the earliest opportunity (even when there was still loose reds left) leading to more 70+, 100+ breaks.

I was a little surprised by a few notable absentees from the list - Mark Williams (12th), Jimmy White (13th).
Also Matthew Stevens featuring so highly is just another example of his unfulfilled potential.
And Selby, proving that he's not  not just a grinder!

For pure break building-potting success I think Ronnie and Higgins are out in front. A cut above the rest. More effortless than the rest, including Hendry.

Be interesting to see how many frames people played to achieve their totals.

If anyone wants to go ahead and run the numbers that would be great, thanks. :p
