    Hi All,
I have a Dietrich OT-4 Swiss watch for sale or for swap with Tag Heuer Connected.

I have the post on Adverts, eBay & Done Day but I am not getting much responses.

I know the watch is not very familiar but it is of high quality and nice design.

How can I get this watch sold faster?

Is it not a watch you love OP

Why are you looking to sell or swap?

You're right it is not a particularly familiar watch

Well yes I love it, but I got it as a gift and would like to get the Tag Heuer Connected instead of it.

The trouble with a watch like that is that it is not a 'big brand' name and at that price you are very unlikely to get someone making a random purchase. ie Your target market is narrow and very specialised.
So you may either need to bide your time until someone does come looking for that watch or lower the price to entice the randomers.
Or try a specialist watch forum sales corner?

Well you are absolutely right. I have already decreased the price but this type of watches usually doesn't loose much when selling. Anyway I am not in a hurry and I am still flexible in negotiating a good offer.

    thanks for the reply.

    Wow thats a hard sell.
I would agree that the only hope would be a specialized forum. Watchuseek or a big international site.
I dont know the brand or the heritage so cant comment on the quality or value.
Maybe try ask to trade back to an AD if all else fails.

The majority of watch brands lose money on resale, with the exception of the very few brands that have long wait times for certain models. Your watch is more about the design than it is a timepiece. For example Swiss designed and engineered, but the movement is made by Miyota which is Citizen watch company. The movement is Japanese and costs about $45. So it becomes a tough sell at over 1K unless the design draws a buyer in.

The brand is not selling on watchuseek, with one new OT-3 currently priced under $700 and no takers, another OT-5 is listed that also has not sold.

The market you are looking to sell to is more fashion orientated and less to a watch collector.

Honestly my opinion, you got it as a gift. Its a unique conversation piece, unlikely someone else will sit at a table wearing the same watch. So wear it in good health and just enjoy it.

    Best of luck.

I would echo what's already been said. It's a very niche type of watch, albeit one that I actually like myself. I actually looked at these before and they were slow to sell on the big watch sites, and even on eBay.

Bottom line is everything will sell if the price is right, so either drop the price until it sells or keep it and enjoy it.

Yep, it's annoying and unfortunate but I've experienced that too, a watch I thought was great, unique and worth the price had no interest at all. Nothing to be done but keep it as an ornament or suck up a big loss. And those Dietrich watches seem extraordinarily over-priced when new so depreciation will indeed be huge. It's a tough decision to lose that amount of money but I think you really would need to look at selling around 30-40% of rrp to get the casual interest. I can't see a chinese made watch with standard japanese movement making anywhere near 1k really no matter the nice, interesting dial design.

Thanks all for the reply. Well I think I will keep on wearing it till I get a decent price. I will drop down the price as well so I can see if there is anyone interested in buying it. I admit that the price of the new ones are really expensive for such a brand.
