Old sparkplugs, anything useful to do with them?

Changed the plugs in my car during the week and did as I normally do just dumped them in the bin. For future reference is there anything useful to do with them or any collection point where they might be recycled proper?

They're very handy for breaking glass. Smash the ceramic up and just throw a fragment at the window.

Limited applications unless you're up to no good to be fair.

Paint them gold and set them in some rough quartz and you can present the local GAA side with an chintzy trophy for free.

keep them until you come to sell the car and put them back in, maximising profit on sale

I'm amazed that this hasn't been more widespread. Can you imagine the damage some little scrotes could do. Scary

You can use them as fishing weights. When sea fishing for example and you expect to loose a lot of weights fishing over rough ground. With the price of lead being high sea fishing weights are not cheap. These can be a cheap alternative.

lawnmower engines with OHV should be able to take an old car spark plug. de-carbonize and reset the gap and they'll work in your lawnmower but compare the reach of the plugs before doing this as you wouldn't want the piston hitting the plug.

If there is a banger in the family then that is where you gift your old but good sparkplugs and oil.

I used to keep my old spark plugs and pool balls in my drivers side door pockets to throw at cyclists and other motorists...

They used to nick the shatter hammers you find around buses.

You could also utilise the high C of a trained Soprano.

Am I the only one who has been happy to use a screwdriver to break a window with minimal effortand fuss?
